Maintenance Tips for Your Wastewater Filtration System
September 16, 2020The Benefits of Ultrasonics
September 16, 2020Deep cleaning is a major part of many industrial finishing processes, and for good reason. In order to produce the best possible parts, they often need to be thoroughly cleaned, including the removal of grease, dirt, and paint. Normal cleaning agents don’t often do the trick when it comes to cleaning the toughest of stains, so solvent cleaners are often used in industrial finishing processes. Due to the fact that there are many different kinds of parts that need to be finished, no single solvent is ideal for every situation. That being said, there are best solvents to be used for different workpiece materials.
Electronics Degreasing
A common application for solvent cleaners is in the degreasing of electronics parts. Water-based cleaners won’t work on the cleaning of these pieces because they could damage or short out the electronics. The grease must still be removed from them however, which is why vapor degreasing or similar processes are employed with a solvent. EnSolv, by Envirotech, is one of the most popular and effective degreasing solvents, removing grease, rust, and residue from surfaces while also being environmentally-friendly. In the United States, it is largely touted as not only one of the most effective solvents, but as the most stable nPB product as well.
Sensitive Materials
Some workpiece materials are susceptible to damage from cleaning chemicals and therefore require solvents to be used that best suited for sensitive materials. Chemtronic and TechSpray, both subsidiaries of ITW, are advanced cleaning agents that can be used without fear of damaging the parts being finished. They do so without sacrificing any quality and even include nPB and TCE alternatives. Brulin SolVantage is another excellent solvent product that is non-flammable and safe to use in high-performance environments.
