Vibratory Finishers

Vibratory Finishers are used for deburring, surface conditioning, cleaning, burnishing, and drying. They may be used with media or part on part, and can run wet or dry. Available styles are bowls, combos, and tubs (which can be compartmentalized). Vibratory Finishers are available in 1/2 cubic foot to 100 cubic foot sizes, with or without media/parts separation.

Vibratory Finishers, which are the most common type of parts finishers, are used for deburring, surface conditioning, cleaning, burnishing, and drying. They are designed to create smooth and consistent finishes for multiple parts at the same time. They may be used with media or part on part, and they can run wet or dry, depending on your project.

The vibratory finishing process involves placing unfinished parts into a vibratory tub or bowl, along with media & compound that rubs against the parts. With the vibratory action, the media grinds against the surface of the parts and creates a smooth, deburred edge and/or finish, while the compound facilitates the cleaning and/or burnishing.

As a manufacturer, investing in vibratory finishers come with a lot of advantages, some of which include;

  • Low costs: An essential benefit of using vibratory finishers is that they’re more cost-effective compared to other mass finishing equipment, thanks to their ability to clean and deburr multiple parts at the same time. This speeds up manufacturing operations and allows manufacturers to spend less on equipment.
  • Highly Versatile: Another strong advantage of vibratory finishers is their versatility. They can deburr and/or polish virtually any metal product. They can also be customised to suit your needs.
  • Low maintenance: Vibratory finishers are very reliable, and this allows you to get more work done without making frequent stops for repairs or cleanings.
  • Suitable for fragile products: Vibratory finishers are designed to protect and maintain the shape of materials that could lose that shape easily. This makes it suitable for a wide range of materials, whether strong or fragile.

For these reasons and more, vibratory finishing is one of the most common finishing methods and is used across several industries such as; automotive, medical, jewellery, firearms, ammunition,  sports and fitness, aerospace, cutlery, coins and hardware.
